Thanks for the information. My understanding is that the electric heater in the vehicle requires just about as much electricity as a regular hair dryer at about 1300W. It will be very demanding for the hybrid engine especially one that is not fully warmed up to the normal operation temperature to provide that amount of current to heat the interior of the vehicle. What would save even more fuel in the winter season is to turn on the heated seats to high if available while not turning on the heater until the engine temperature has reach its optimal operation level which is just below the middle line because the heated seats would only require about 60W of electric and has direct contact to heat the driver's body.

I’ve got the same vehicle down here in the US and I find the same thing with the cold weather milage. I run the heat sparingly as well. Something else worth noting is that when the outside temps are low the vehicle will also run the engine as needed to heat the hybrid battery regardless of how I set the cabin temp. The good news is that during the rest of the year I’m getting way better fuel efficiency than even the EPA rating. Traveling at or even a few MPH above the posted speed limits I’m averaging above 40 MPG in combined driving. I’m loving the CR-V Sport Touring.

Make sure A/C is off….default is on.

This is actually not reverse. It’s DISC, which basically is throttle idle, but the props at reverse position. It’s one step before reverse and usually they use DISC. Reverse would be way louder than this and that’s why pilots don’t use reverse, because it’s loud and uncomfortable and other factors like more fuel, engine wearing. So they don’t use it since they can stop without them.

The Prem Y seat is ok for sub 6 hours. I can't imagine 14 in it. The food lately in Prem Y has taken a nosedive too. A lovely mini croissant in a bag was my breakfast from YUL-LHR in June. Mmmmm 7-11ish.

did the exact same flight but in economy....was a long flight....found meals and eats frugal...water was in a cup from a jug from cabin crew...

I worked at this hotel when it opened back in 1998. The furniture looks exactly the same.

I’m not sure they actually went reverse on this landing. Typically in the Q we put it in “DISC” which just flattens the blades on landing which generates a lot of drag. Reverse thrust on the Q is actually a pretty violent stop and we really only use it for emergency or exceedingly short runways

Best video so far! Flying SYD to YVR in September in PE. Booked seats 14A and K. Should have served you breakfast on porcelain plates. That's what you pay for! Were seats comfortable? Wish the seats had proper leg rests like reclining chairs do. Some airlines offer that in PE. Did the cabin crew ensure your area remained private and not open to economy?

What lavatory did you use? Does PE share one with business class?

You need a VPN running for RUclips. The networks are most of the time configured to stop videos from loading, I’ve tried this with a lot of airlines and most have that barrier in place.

The dreamliner! I wonder if early next year I can request for an upgrade, with the social distance seating and all. It would be great, so i can actually enjoy the 14 hours. 😁 I was flying on this day too, only I was returning from Philippines to YVR at the time 😁 WOW food in a plate, not a tray. Now that? is worth the cost altogether 😍
